As part of our goal to help members expand their knowledge and help with the challenges of growing older, TASCA offers special speakers throughout the year to aid in these challenges.
We have covered such important issues as senior citizen fraud – presented by an FBI agent. We hosted the president of the Tyler Chamber of Commerce who shared such interesting information on Tyler and the East Texas area.
We host many special programs on health related topics like hypertension, cholesterol, and hearing issues.
Also our lobby area offers an array of booklets from area businesses and services to aid seniors.
We schedule a Potluck Lunch once a month where members bring a dish to share. These gatherings are usually at 11 a.m. on a Tuesday. The selection of food is quite impressive and mighty tasty.
Often times the lunch is concurrent with a speaker. And sometimes we do potluck lunch and have a party with it – like to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day!
Did we mention that our members love to get together? Not only does TASCA provide games, activities, and events- but also informative and important learning opportunities to keep our members informed about important issues seniors citizens may encounter.
